It's encouraging to see that Welsh are taking language learning seriously and if we take a leaf out of their book we could all be bringing up bi-lingual and multi-lingual children. The on-line paper this is South Wales reports that the demand from parents for more Welsh speaking schools is on the up. And if the research is right that exposing our kids to other languages at an early age increases their aptitude for language learning later on. This is just another argument in support of increasing the need for making languages compulsory up to GCSE level.
