Mangat Bhardwaj is a native speaker of Panjabi with a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Manchester. He has taught Panjabi, Hindi-Urdu, English and translation and interpreting in colleges and worked as a freelance translator and interpreter. Previous publications include Hindi Urdu Bol Chaal (with G. Wells), Colloquial Panjabi and Colloquial Panjabi 2.
