Italiani: personaggi che il mondo ci invidia: Dante. Libro - Andrea Mantelli, Paola Tosi

"Vita e opere, Brevi graphic novel, Attività."

The second in a series of innovative books for intermediate level students of Italian (CEFR B1-B2). The series presents some of Italy's most important cultural icons not only through interesting, informative articles and images, but also through original short stories in the form of a graphic novel, bringing these famous personalities alive in a new and engaging way for students of Italian.

"Dante" is a monographic volume dedicated entirely to the great Italian poet. This book has a slightly higher level (B1+/B2) than the other books in the series because the texts are a little more complex, both in terms of content and vocabulary. Despite the fact that 700 years have passed since Dante's death, his relevance today is impressive.

A short biography presents the poet's life and works, along with brief cultural details about the historical period and the literary and artistic trends of the time. The language is kept as clear and simple as possible to help students deepen their understanding of Dante's main principles and of his most significant works.

A colourful graphic novel, specially created by established illustrators, then presents aspects of Dante's life or related to his works.

A final section of comprehension exercises, created in collaboration with the University for Foreigners of Siena, offers students the opportunity to retrace what they have read and to further develop vocabulary, reading and writing skills. Answers to the activities are provided at the back of the book, making it ideal for independent study.
